“Working mothers shouldn’t come home too tired, when they walk in the door after a full day on the job, they have a new job and they should be fresh and awake, there for their kids 100 percent. People are going to have to reevaluate their lives and put their children first.”—Barbara Bush

“You listen to me. I've been alive a bit longer than you, and dead a lot longer than that. I've seen things you couldn't imagine, and done things I prefer you didn't. I don't have a reputation or being a thinker. I follow my blood...which doesn't always rush in the direction of mt brain. So I make a lot of mistakes. A lot of wrong bloody calls. A hundred plus years, and there's only one hing I've ever been sure of....you...I'm not asking for anything. When I say, ‘I love you,’ it’s not because I want you or because I can’t have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I’ve seen your kindness and your strength. I’ve seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You’re a hell of a woman.”—Spike, Buffy the Vampire Slayer

The Kite Runner! Khaled Hosseini give us an unique look at Afghanistan. One that most people…including myself at times…don't or won't see in a post 911 world. You really see the tragedy of the Afghani people. The Taliban isn't Afghanistan any more than the Nazis are German or the KKK is American. They aren't what we want to be know as, remembered for, or even associated with. It's a story about betrayal and redemption , it shows how the decisions we make in our childhood affect us even in adulthood. It is a touching, wonderful, truly lovely read!

About A Boy! I love this film! It is sarcastic, British, wonderful. It's all about Will…Hugh Grant…who is self centered, immature man who has never had to grow up and be responsible and Marcus who is strange, being raised by his hippie suicidal mother and how these two very different people become friends…no more than friends family.

Meiko! This week I've really been into Meiko's Boys with Girlfriends. But I also really like her Piano song!

PH! Melanie had her second baby boy on 26 Aug 2009 at 11:54 PM! He was 7 lbs. 10 oz 21 inches! He is really cute and sweet. He doesn't look like PB did when he was born but cute! Being an Aunt is awesome!

“I had all these answers for her. ‘He’s misunderstood.’ ‘He’s trying to fix the bureau and no one will listen.’ ‘He was born in the wrong century.’ ‘His father’s a jerk.’ I got a whole list. But you know something Sir, at the end of the day it’s all crap. You ARE who you are. The why doesn’t mean a thing does it?”—Eric O’Neill, Breach

What the...Wednedays!

Royal Tea Bags! This was pretty intense! Who doesn't want to sit down and have a relaxing cup of tea with Prince William or Harry!

Megan Fox is going to play Catwoman in the next Batman movie! Oh my...I really hope this proves to be completely false! Don't get me wrong she is very pretty...but can she act at all! I've seen transformers...the first one anyways...and all I can remember her doing is lifting up a car hood giving sexy eyes to the camera. No offense to anyone who happens to be a Fox fan...but honestly this would not be a good thing!

For those of you die hard Twilighters out there you could have your very own Edward Cullen Decal watching over you while you sleep! I don't get it...it kind of creeps me out!

Blog Awards...

Heck yes! Now to be honest I don't know exactly why Harris thinks I'm a creative blogger! I find that incredibly amusing! But I have a rule about Never turning down free stuff, presents or awards! So thank you Amy for this very unexpected honor!

The people I nominate for the award are...

Mecham...About a Girl...and not just because she quoted me last week!
Mother...Nevitt News
Emilee...Little Beck Family
Brie...I Heart Kiwi
Hubbard...Be Browned

So without further ado 7 interesting things about me...and sadly they aren't that interesting...

1-Up in till my junior year of high school I was able to do a sugar bowl. For those of you are not nearly as cultured as I...a sugar bowl is when you lie on you stomach and then push your head back and pull your feet towards your head and they touch. But yeah I cannot do it anymore, but one of my goals in life is to be able to do it again...but let's be honest I will probably have to wait till the Resurrection for it to happen!

2-One of my favorite accessories are fingerless gloves. I love gloves and the wearing of them but I hate the lack of control one acquires when wearing gloves...But with fingerless gloves you get the awesomeness of gloves and retain the use of your fingers! You can type, turn pages on books, write, eat...they are awesome!

3-I suffer from a sunflower seed addiction! Seriously it's pretty bad!

4-I call bean burritos bean burros...seriously I didn't really think this was weird or interesting until Mecham spent the day and with me and didn't really know what a bean burro was at first. I have practically grown up on these, some people say wheat is the staff of life...not in my house...the staff of life is beans, flour tortillas, and el pato!

5-I love TV Shows! The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Castle, Firefly, Chuck, Cheers, Roseanne, The Pretender, NCIS, Dead Like Me, Friends, Pushing Daisies...! And once I fall in love with a character I usually become a devoted fan for...well until they play someone I cannot stand...usually this leads to a love of hating them though...or they say to much political crap...I love to watch them, but I can only stand so much holier than thou I play pretend all day so I know so much about the real world!

6-I can relate almost any topic to Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Harry Potter. And if that fails I relate random things that happen in everyday life to TV shows...you'd be surprized how often I am reminded about things that happened on Friends!

7-I love desks but I hate sitting at them. For years I had a desk in my room...I can count on my hand the number of times that I actually sat down and work at it! Well to be honest I don't think I ever did. I work on the floor. My desk always ended up as more storage room...I always sit on the ground...usually next to the desk because the chair and desk are covered in things I need...and then surround my self with everything! Actually I'm sitting on the ground typing this and watching Castle reruns on hulu!

Favorite Fridays!

The Chronicles of Prydain! Hubbard recommended these when I was on the mission and to be honest I wasn't that super excited to read them because the Disney movie The Black Cauldron…wasn't that great! But Lloyd Alexander's Chronicles of Prydain was awesome! They're an epic…the Lord of the Rings for younger people. It's five books and every book gets better! I highly recommend them!

Chocolat! This is one of my favorite movies of all time! It's probably one of the prettiest movies ever...seriously it's candy of my eyes...haha eye candy! It's a story about accepting different kinds of people, wearing red shoes, enjoying life and chocolate! It has a beautiful cast; Johnny Depp, Dame Judi Dench, Juliette Binoche, and Alfred Molina! Every time I watch it I have an overwhelming desire to open a chocolate shop, wear red shoes and pencil skirts...while making chocolate...throw a dinner party just like the one in the movie, and make out with Johnny Depp...or another equally charming gypsy/pirate like Han Solo! So put on your red shoes, open a box of truffles...I prefer dark chocolate truffles...put your feet up and enjoy!

“Which would you rather be divinely beautiful, dazzlingly clever, or angelically good?”—Anne Shirley, Anne of Green Gables
...dazzlingly clever!

Favorite Fridays!

The Graveyard Book! The best Neil Gaiman book I've read so far! I had no idea what to think about this book and even put off reading it , mainly because the title was just like...what?!? But I read it and loved it! It's not freaky at all…well maybe a little bit, but more of a…who thinks of this…this is Intensely awesome! Gaiman brings us the story of Nobody Owens who after his parents are murdered grows up in a graveyard . He mixes humor and tender moments magically! You will not want to put it down! It's kind of like a Tim Burton movie…Awesome!

Seventeen Again! This was hilarious! It has everything a light saber duel, a pod racer bed,
invisibility cloaks, people speaking elfish…elfin…Darth Vader Mugs, Spock/Elf ears and then there is Zac Efron and his story line! If you cannot tell I like the side story the best! I really didn't know what to think, but as soon as the light sabers lit up and Ned quotes, "An Elegant weapon for a more civilized age" I was freaking hooked! Watch it! You are sure to love it! Even though I did find myself wishing Matthew Perry had more air time. There are a lot of scenes where I could see Perry doing a better job at delivering the lines then Efron…well at least I cold picture Chandler Bing doing an excellent job!

Jason Aldean! I'm in love with his Wide Open CD. Well mainly two songs…1st Big Green Tractor…2nd She's Country! I highly recommend this for whenever you feel like you need a break from the real world and need to go back to your country roots. You know it's there, for some it's not hard to find or admit, for others it's hidden so deep that it's hard to remember that it's even there. So give in pull out your boots and enjoy!

Happily Ever After...

Ever since I started Michael Buckley's Sisters Grimm Series, I've been kind of a little it obsessed with fairy tales. So when I first saw Dina Golstien's Fallen Princesses I really fell in like!

"I began to imagine Disney's perfect princesses juxtaposed with real issues that were affecting women around me such as illness, addiction and self-image."--Dina Golstien

Sometimes Happily Ever After...isn't what you expect!

"Being a father is more than giving life. It's being there in the middle of the night when you're sick or afraid or alone. Well...It's teaching you how to ride a bike, how to catch a fish, how to tie a tie. Being a parent isn't about the big moments, it's about the little ones."—Sydney, The Pretender

Surprise Visit!!

So yesterday afternoon, Hermana Caine...who isn't actually Caine anymore because she went and got married, but let's be honest, she will always be Caine to me!...called and said she was coming to town! Her husband John and her spent the night with us! It was so fun to talk about good times and memories from the mission! Seriously...we had some crazy stories!

Catch up...

So I totally lied unintentionally!...Some people choose to say loudly that the pictures were deleted but apparently the fact that there were two cameras has thrown some people off!

After three hours in the van this is what we saw! It was pretty intense! There was smoke everywhere...but we'd come all this way...so we kept going!

I thought it was pretty awesome! There were fireman all over the roads! Mother was freaked out...but I thought it was pretty cool!

It gave everything an intense other worldly feeling!

Not that it bothered PB any. He had a blast! PS and Mel brought there tent and after we set it up we were surprised to find this little door...doggie door, Mel wasn't impressed when I pointed out that it was the perfect size for someone to just reach in and grab PB while they were sleeping!...PB was fun but he wasn't thrilled that we kept pushing him through the door trying to get a picture!

This was on a hike we took! Seriously I don't know if there are two people who laugh more when they kiss for a picture!

PB loved walking outside until he the tall grass would touch his face! He didn't want anything to do with that!

Fifth...M cut and colored my hair!

This isn't the best picture...I'll have to get a different! We went black. The bottom is solid then we weaved it through out the rest! It's great to have hair that's not natural then suddenly faded dark...regrowth is a real...pain!
“When my sister was little, she use to close her eyes every time she wanted to hide. She thought that made her disappear. When you get older, you learn that closing your eyes just makes it darker. You have to face everything…even death, if you want to grow up.”—George, Dead Like Me

Reunions y mas...

Second...The Blau Reunion!

D, Mom and I went to the Blau Reunion at Dairy Canyon Ranch in Utah. Sometimes I'm surprised how entertaining...Older people can be!

Uncle S was an extra in a movie filmed around there. I believe it was...Sergeants Three!

Bevin's girls H and M...I have no idea how to spell that. Played the piano, and they were AMAZING! Seriously, I don't just mean they were good, or impressive...but freaking Intense! I love it when they play! And a reunion just isn't complete without hearing an...I really need to invest in some better adjectives...amazing duet by them.

My cousin K helped do some magic tricks...and later that night had to explain to me that it wasn't real magic!

Grandma and Grandpa were in charge of most everything up there this year! Aren't they cute! We also met some pretty cool peeps from Kansas and Arkansas! I love that with some people you just never know what's going to come out of their mouths!

Then we came home! Isn't Arizona awesome! Seriously! Utah you can keep are your red rocks and greenness! I love coming home to this state...even when it feels like hell on earth!

Third...The Cabin!

We all went last week to Grandma & Grandpa's Cabin! But unfortunately all are really cool pictures that we took were deleted somehow by someone who still says they didn't do anything...M...but we won't point any fingers...M so did it...but I will rise above it and not yell or scream. I still have 4 completely random pictures and so I leave you with this one of PB in his boots!
“Look, our forefathers died for the pursuit of happiness. Okay? Not for the sit-around-and-wait of happiness. Now, if you want, you can go to the same bar, drink the same beer, talk to the same people every day. Or you can lick the Liberty Bell. You can grab life by the crack and lick the crap out of it.”—Barney Stinson, How I met Your Mother

Favorite Fridays!

Carole Nelson Douglas! I read Good Night, Mr. Holmes last week and thoroughly enjoyed it! I have never read a Sherlock Holmes novel, but I loved this just the same! Douglas takes us on a journey following Irene Adler…a female version of Holmes…and it's lovely! I have now committed myself to reading Sherlock Holmes to better appreciate this novel!

Chick-Fil-A! I love this place, it has to be my favorite fast food restaurant ever! A number one with a Dr. Pepper and lots of Chick-Fil-A sauce on the side! Oh my goodness I am now officially graving their fries! I can almost smell the calories now!

A Series of Unfortunate Events! I think this is one of the funniest kids movies ever! I really don't know why I like it so much…but I do! Jim Carrey is amazing as the count Olaf! The Kids are great, but the writing is just…awesome! I've read the first few books a while ago, but I don't remember which ones but I want to read the whole series! They're just funny…like ridonkculous funny!
