"You have the sophistication of a woman of twelve"--Waldo, Little Rascals

...today L let me straighten her hair and she looked so grown up! Every time I looked at her I thought of this quote!

Favorite Fridays!

In honor of Halloween tomorrow I thought I would dedicate today's Favorite Friday to some of my Favorite Halloween Movies...well at least movies I think would be appropriate to watch on Halloween! So in no particular order...

Nightmare Before Christmas! Tim Burton's classic masterpiece!

Wait Until Dark! Oh my scary! Hepburn is awesome! It's like pee your pants awesome!!

Hocus Pocus! I remember watching this in the movie theater and Mother screaming so loud that Megs started crying! We have watched this movie like almost every other day this month! Classic!

Casper! Oh Deven Sawa was on the screen for two minutes and he became an instant heart throb!

Harry Potter! All of them! Wouldn't a HP Marathon be a fun all day party!

The Dark Knight! AAAHHH! Seriously creepy movie! Plus you have the gorgeous Christian Bale...dressed in Armani who just makes him look even more delectable!...Aaron Eckhart, and Heath Ledger!

Coraline! For anyone who hasn't seen this movie you should watch it and let the Other Mother creep you out!

“My Parents took me and my little sister to the circus every year. I liked the trapeze artists the best, ‘The Flying Lawendas’ or whatever they were called, not the death-defying stuff—the mid-air quadruple flips and near misses…I covered my eyes for that. What I liked was the part at the end when they bounced into the net and jumped up with that big Wallinda smile, the ‘Ta-Dah’ part—‘Ta-Dah’…I loved that. It meant ‘I’m safe’.”—George, Dead Like Me

The Gathering Storm!

Now this isn't a review because I haven't read it yet! Yes I know it came out yesterday...but I just finished book eleven today! But I still haven't started The Gathering Storm.

Why? I'm not real sure! I want to read it! I need to read it! I've read almost nothing but the first eleven books for the last month soaking it all up again. I loved the Wheel of Time series the first time I read them...but I love them just as much...MORE! The way everything comes together. The people I loved the first time around I love more, the people hated the first time I hate even more! Jordan is a god of the Fantasy World! Which is part of the reason that I haven't started. Fear of what ifs are over coming me. The only thing I have read is the forward. I'm sure Robert Sanderson will do a great job...even though I've never read anything by him...but he's not Jordan. Oh you need not worry it will be read...let's be honest, there is no way I will be able to go to bed tonight without at least starting it. But oh my...it's the beginning of the end! Only two more books after this! What's going to happen how will it all come together?!?!?!?!?! Oh my this is so Intense I can hardly stand it!!

Favorite Fridays!

Lady Antebellum! They are awesome! I'm kind of sort of in love with their song Need You! It's pretty much amazing! But I' cannot get it to embed so follow the link!

Givenchy! I loved them since I first realized that the gowns worn in Sabrina by Audrey Hepburn were made by Givenchy! Scarlett Johansson...who is married to the gorgeous Ryan Reynolds...wore an amazing Haute Couture Givenchy red dress that is stunning!

The Proposal! I watched this tonight and it was...awesome! I loved it! Mecham was right, this movie was made to be enjoyed by me! Watching it with my parents was interesting though! Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock...the queen of RomComs...are a great pair! Watch it and laugh!

Where the Wild Things Are...on Conan!

Max Records the kid from Where the Wild Things Are gave the sweetest Star Wars reference on Conan!

Max: “The final audition was probably the strangest that was with Spike here in LA. During which he shot foam bullets at me which I tried to block with an umbrella like a lightsaber.”

Conan: “But that’s not in the movie!”

Max: “You don’t understand, Max has to have awesome Force powers.”

Pretty Awesome! The rest of the interview is redic but the clip is cool! I cannot wait to see this movie!

“I like my money right where I can see it: hanging in my closet.”—Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City

Well, well, well!

It's Sunday night and I am beyond my freaking limits...I'm bored! That's right bored...not board as I received a text from someone this week...but bored! Ole spoke in church today and it was a good talk on prayer...I gave him a 7, it could have been higher, but he speaks very softly when he talks about church things in English which I don't understand, I think learning Spanish made me speak louder. But maybe it's just me! And Second he said um way to many times!...But other than that it was a very good talk.

I'm watching Little Dorrit now. I've never read much of Dickens, actually I think that I've only ever read Great Expectations my freshman year of high school. I was very surprised how much I like it. It is now on my must read list. I do believe that if the book is as good as the movie then we should have read this in high school!

And such a pretty thing, Matthew Macfadyen stars in the movie, which is lovely because it's a very long movie and he is very good looking. And he just had a birthday on Saturday. He's 35 and suppose to be my future husband, but unfortunately he's already married! Oh well, I'll just have to keep looking! Still I'm rather bored. I seem to need to multitask, I cannot just sit and watch a movie.

Oh well nothing else to do. I guess I could read, I am on book eight...The Path of Daggers by Robert Jordan...and I just cannot believe how I'm getting all tied up again! Such a good series! I must say if that I have a literary crush on al'Lan Mandragoran for sure! But then there is Perrin Aybara and even a little one for Mat Cauthon! But I'll just have to set my heights on men that are real and not so literary!
“I am sure that never was a people, who had more reason to acknowledge a Divine interposition in their affairs, than those of the United States; and I should be pained to believe that they have forgotten that agency, which was so often manifested during our revolution, or that they failed to consider the omnipotence of that God who is alone able to protect them!”—George Washington

Happy Birthday to Me!

“You’ll never get a boyfriend if you look like you wandered out of Auschwitz.”—Pam Jones, Bridget Jones’s Diary

Favorite Fridays!

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof! I watched this for the first time this week...and really liked it! Elizabeth Taylor is Lovely, Paul Newman is totally hot, Burl Ives...honestly shocked at his performance because I'm used to seeing him as the singing neighbor on Summer Magic! Mel made the comment that all they do is yell throughout the movie...which they do...but the end was perfection! And sometimes you need to yell things out! I am a strong believer in...expressing yourself loudly! And it is always better to get things out in the open then have them eat away at you inside!

Peppermint Tea! My favorite drink today is Peppermint Tea with chocolate flavored stevia. It's the way I fix my chocolate now! Not quite as good as a dark chocolate truffle but pretty good! It's followed closely by Bengal Spice and Honey Vanilla Chamomile!

Isabel Marant! Mandy Moore wore this beautiful Isabel Marant Fall 2009 this last week! It is definitely lustful! Picture this...Brie's beautiful wedding...me in this dress! Oh yes, it would be awesome!

Chris Cornell! Ever since I saw Casino Royal I knew two things! ONE...Daniel Craig is suppose to be my future husband! TWO...I had to find out who sang the intro! Chris Cornell has a voice that is...super sexy! So enjoy!

“You see someone running incredibly fast—the first thing you gotta ask is ‘Are they running to something or are they running from something?’ The answer is always both.”—Topher Binks, Dollhouse

...photo from Uncle Monte's Facebook!...that's right Nic is just smiling away!

Love it...but where would I put it?

Everyday I go blog stalking and I find things I just love!...but what would I do with it! So when I was on K for Katie I saw this print and fell in love!

I love the colors, it reminded me a little of Audrey Hepburn! I just don't have anywhere to put it!

“My unique transatlantic journey has taught me that kindness and compassion are far more regal than pedigree and charm, and that happily ever after doesn’t magically occur the minute you find yourself a prince of a palace. I’ve learned that happily ever after is a state of mind that you have to create—every day, every moment—for yourself. And it is that noble knowledge, that enchanted power, that can turn any girl into a princess.”—Jerramy Fine, Someday My Prince Will Come

Favorite Fridays!

Maurice Sendak! He wrote the childhood classic Where the Wild Things Are! And soon it will be a movie! I think that in order to really appreciate the genius of Sendak we all should reread this classic. Plus it will only prepare us for the mind blowing genius of Spike Jonze and his interpretation of the book! I'm so excited for the movie!

Confeessions of a Shopaholic! Oh my heart! I LOVED this movie! I felt like I found a long lost soul sister! Shopping is more then just buying things...it's more of a spiritual enlightenment...in a very secular way! Plus you get to watch Hugh Dancy...who finally married Claire Danes in a secret wedding in September!...who was a contender to be my future husband! Isla Fisher is super cute during the whole movie. And even though most of her outfits were too much for me, I loved her colorful tights and now have a unquenchable desire to buy a green scarf! Watch it...love it...then go buy something!

Billy Currington! I love this song! It makes me laugh every time I hear it. Lola and Nina even know all the words and call it their funny song! Listen to it, it's classic country! And if it doesn't make you at least smile and roll your eyes then you have major problems!

“To trudge: the slow, weary, depressing yet determined walk of a man who has nothing left in life except the impulse to simply soldier on.”—Chaucer, A Knights Tale

Yesterday I made Sugar Cookies. They seemed to turn out OK...at least Aaron and O ate over a dozen, which doesn't mean anything really because they're boys and they eat anything! But Mel liked them and so did PB!

He was real fun yesterday. He also really likes the pumpkin spice and Coconut Hershey Kisses! I am determined to get him to say Trick or Treat...or at least one of the words before Halloween! Mel and Mother went shopping yesterday and came back with three suits!

They were on sale at JC Penny's for $15! So now PB will have a suit for a very long time! He looked super cute and by the way he strutted around the kitchen...he knew it!

"I'm a kindergarten teacher, I see a confused little kid in the corner trying to eat the lefty scissors and I got to help the poor little bastard."—Lily, How I Met Your Mother

So I've been doing this diet with my Mother for the last 20 days...that's right no freaking sugar for 20 days so far! Yeah it's not as hard as it sounds but still tomorrow is day 21 and that's what it take to make a habit right? Wrong...I will most definitely be going back to enjoying sugar when I'm done with this! But surprisingly I've been into this baking mood. Strange I know. So Yesterday Mel and I made these!

Black Bottomed Mini Caramel Pumpkin Cheesecake Bites! They smelt really good. Mel, O, and L all said they tasted good. Papa refused to try them because they had Pumpkin in the title! We gave them to the Davenports because they always bring us the sweetest Conference treats! But ours didn't turn out quite as pretty as Picky-Palates. Ours looked like this...

Not quite as pretty...we'll work on our presentation. I've found that when I get bored on this diet I want to make something...even though I cannot eat it. Which works. Usually I eat the batter as I'm cooking so when I'm done I don't really want to eat any...now I just don't eat the batter/dough stuff when I bake. Mother doesn't really appreciate this but I figure since I cannot eat sugar then everyone else should! It's been interesting!

Have you heard that BBC made a new Emma movie! Well they did! I am so excited to see it. Here is a little behind the scenes look at the movie!

...but Papa cut the cable so let's hope they post them online! Or I will just have to wait to buy it! Oh I am excited! I believe the first episode is tomorrow night!

“Just because I Have Boobs, doesn’t mean I have special magical powers over babies!”—Dr. Brennen, Bones

Favorite Fridays!

I never really thought about how I open a banana before! But now I feel so informed! Who would have thought that monkeys knew a better way to open a banana...aren't we suppose to be the evolved ones?!?...plus he's wearing monkey pajamas!

Panera! As I sit here typing, I am suddenly hit with a desire to go to Panera! For Bagels, or soup, or salads, or just...Bread! Oh Panera how I miss you and all your sweet smelling breads...oh...it's heavenly!

Wild America! Do you remember this movie?!...Do you remember the guys in it?!...Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Devon Sawa, Scott Bairstow...Everyone I knew was in love with one of them at the time! Megs and I watched it this week with L...it's still good! A classic from my childhood!

Lela Rose! Anne Hathaway wore an Orange Spring 2010 dress to a luncheon this week! I love the origamish folding on the dress! Have I mentioned that Hathaway is like my fashion muse!
