Bows, Bows, Bows

Today I was a little bored so I decided to try to make gift bows! I had found this how to tutorial on How About Orange last week! It was really fun! Megs, Mel, and Mother all made one too! I thought they turned out pretty good!

This was really good because I've been meaning to throw out my old magazines for a while, and now I have something to do with them! Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to do with all the bows!

Monday Musical!

In honor of my love for Glee, I decided that I needed to give Musicals some much needed love. I have always liked a good musical...and occasionally the bad ones...which I blame on my Mother for always watching them! And holy moly there are a lot! So this week I thought we'd start of with a classic, one of my favorites, and one that people haven't really heard of before…The Slipper and the Rose! I remember watching this as a little girl dancing around the front room jumping on the couches with my sisters. My mom loved this movie…which I'm sure has something to do with the fact that Richard Chamberlain stars in it! We'd watch our taped from TV version until it broke or was lost I don't know which but we stopped watching it. Last year I found it at Amazon.com and holy moly it's better than I remember! So if you like watching people spontaneously break out in song and dance, are looking for a new version of Cinderella to watch, or want to watch something cheesy then I suggest hunting for this movie…because it's awesome!!

Thankful!

We had Grandma and Grandpa over yesterday for thanksgiving! We did a pretty simple little table setting but I was proud of it!

There is a lot to be grateful for this year! My Pop who turned 80 last week and there's a barn dance out at the farm for him tonight!

And my Grandma whp has a birthday yesterday! They are pretty awesome people!! Neither one has a lot to say but when they do you listen! I hope they had happy birthdays! I love you both!

Here's a picture of Megs with the food...before it was consumed! It was so good!!! Don't you just love Thanksgiving!!
“It was quite a wedding and as I stood there watching I realized something I’d forgotten a long time ago. Sometimes in life there really are bonds formed that can never be broken. Sometimes you really can find that one person who will stand by you no matter what. Maybe you’ll find it in a spouse and celebrate it with your dream wedding, but there’s also the chance that the one person you can count on for a lifetime, the one person who knows you sometimes better than you know yourself is the same person who’s been standing beside you all along.”—Marion St. Claire, Bride Wars

...this was last years Christmas picture! I am really thinking aboutt bangs again. We take pictures this afternoon with Angie! I think I might just have to get a little trim before they happen!

Favorite Friday!

Fablehaven! Kaitlin told me that this needed to be the next book I read, so I read it! Brandon Mull has an incredible imagination and has shared it with us through Kendra and Seth! They take us for another wild ride involving magical creatures, magic, and an evil society that leaves one wanting more. The first book seemed a little slow to me but the second one picks up the pace, there are more secrets revealed and less answers. Plus there is a great cliff hanger at the end that was missing from the first book!

Across the Universe! My old roommate Jana told me that I had to see this forever ago. And I didn't. Why you might ask…well I had heard that it swung way left and at the time I'm was pretty sick of Hollywood trying to shove it's values and lack of morals on the rest of the country!...but I watched it now and it was lovely! Does it have a leftist feel to it. Yes! But it really is a pretty movie. Very artistic, the singing is awesome and the men in it are quite pretty!...Jim Sturgess and Joe Anderson...skinny but pretty! So despite the anti war sentiments, and they do get high and drunk all the time, and there is a little risqué part that would keep me from watching it with my Mother, I loved it!

The Killers! While I have yet to see New Moon I have listened to the soundtrack and here is one of the songs that I loved! White Demon Love Song is by The Killers which was a good indication that I was going to like it! But listen and decide for yourself!

Kitchen Love!

Yesterday on Lake Jane shared an engagement video that was pretty sweet! But let's be honest...I was way distracted by how much I loved this Kitchen that the engagement took place in!

I love the blue wall with the black cabinets and the awesome frame over the table! LOVE IT! Plus the video is pretty sweet! But oh that kitchen!!

Favorite Fridays!

Percy Jackson! Oh my goodness! This was a hidden treasure Mecham let me about! Seriously Harry Potter good! Amazing series! Rick Riordan give us an incredible tale about a demigod boy and his adventures trying to stay alive and save the world! Who thinks of these things! It made me feel stupid at times remembering names but nothing else, so now I'm brushing up on my mythology! I've read the first four books and am just waiting for the fifth one to get here from the library! READ THEM! There is also a movie coming out next year based on the first book! I cannot wait! I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed these books! Has anyone else read them?

Julianne Moore! I love the coral dress she wore a while ago! It's gorgeous! And though coral might not be my color I would still love to own this dress!

Ricardo Arjona! I was introduced to this very pretty Guatemalan by Cayari on the mission! First he has the potential to become my future husband! I loved the music video el problema and minutos. Which I cannot get to embed...and honestly I'm just to tired to try and find one that can! But listen...watch...enjoy! And listen to el problema first then minutos because the videos kind of tell the story!

Happy Birthday O!

First, before I get to the awesome birthday stuff I just need to vent a little history! MY INTERNET IS NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!! This makes me a little bit upset...like down to my core pissed off! Why? Because Papa's computer is working but for some reason O's and my computers no longer like our wireless thingy! Seriously peeved about this!

But today is O's 22nd birthday and Mel and I gave him the coolest party ever! So I am braving this ridiculously slow connection to bring you the sweetness! I will apologize now for all the pictures...but I love them all!

We did a country cotton theme! Because that's what we come from and what O is going to be! It turned out so cute! We didn't have napkins that were the right color so we used a brown paper bag under the silverware! Mel tied a cotton ball with jute/name tag things!

D helped us put some poles together and we strung some Christmas lights! O helped me carry out Mother's antique sewing machine and we added some pictures of O. And then we added what was left of our cotton plant to the ground!

The center was a table runner from Target and mason jars with tea lights tied with ribbon! Plus some very pretty flowers that just happened to be at Target today!

The table...you might recognize as Mother's old table that was in her house for 20 plus years! Mel gave it a make over but it looks like we should have dusted it a little better in this picture!

We threw some old horseshoes, stars and cotton bulbs around the table to give a little finishing touch!

PB sure loved the tea lights in the paper bags! He would go to all the bags one at a time and look then spit!

We mad a little path from the side walk to the...party...with paper bag lights!

I loved the way it turned out! Not sure if O liked the fact that his present was this party...but oh boy am I proud of it!

Mel made Country Fried Steak...via Pioneer Woman's new book...mashed potatoes, corn and salad...she also made Cowboy Cookies! To keep O from really comprehending how awesome the party was going to be, we told him that every one was going to dress up as their favorite Star Wars Character! Then when he saw the pole/light thingy we told him it was a manger and everyone was dressing up as shepherds and wise men! He was not very excited that we were in charge of his dinner!

Until he saw it tonight! To finish out the night we had apple pie...via Marie Calendar...where Darth Vader made a guest appearance! It was a lovely dinner...in which one only needed a light jacket! Don't you love AZ in the winter! Everything was perfect!
...and side note I bought a present for me today! That's right I am the proud owner of the Star Trek DVD!

Interviews...!

Oh my goodness! It's official...I have an interview with a legit company...who will remain nameless unless I'm hired! But it's Thursday at 10:00! So if you are a kind person who God smiles kindly on, it would be greatly appreciated if you offer up some prayers on my behalf!

...with any luck I won't pull a Bridget Jones!

Boda de B!!

Saturday I had the privilege of attending B's Wedding! Which was awesome! It just was so B in every aspect!

They were married at Thunder Cloud Ranch in Queen Creek...in a horse arena! Which you cannot tell from the picture! I loved the wooden back drop/background that was decorated with beautiful crosses! I really like the ceremony, the Reverend shared a sweet quote from Les Miserable...

"The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved -- loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves."—Victor Hugo...B's dress was beautiful! and her veil...Loved it!!

Mel, Megs, Mother and I all went! And loved it! It was a beautiful day, perfect for a wedding!

It was a big step for Mel because she had to leave both her boys and husband to tend for themselves!

Mother and Megs were fun! There isn't a person I know who likes taking there picture more then Megs! Doesn't Mother look amazing...and Megs!

The tables were simple yet elegant. The flowers were in tequila bottles! Don't you love the flowers...orange...awesome!

B and I! It was so fun! The food was delicious, the setting gorgeous, B beautiful, and I finally met Kiwi who seems very nice! Over all a lovely evening!

Favorite Fridays!

The Gathering Storm! Robert Jordan's latest book written by Brandon Sanderson! Oh My Intense! I loved it! Was if different? Yes! Was it awesome? Yes! Brandon Sanderson did Robert Jordan proud! The dialogue between characters, their diction and voice was very different from Jordan, but the heart of the characters was the same! He expressed them in ways I didn't expect but stayed true to Jordan in every sense! And oh my Verin!! I had thought she was what she was...but oh the twist! I am very glad she wasn't totally bad! And Rand! Oh my goodness! When he...you know! I almost screamed...actually I think I did little! I just couldn't believe it! And Siuan and Gareth!!! Finally!!!! And I finally really started to like Egwene...I've struggled truly liking her for a while...but she might pull through! I could go on and on! Needless to say...I LOVED IT!!!

...#15--Check!

L'Wren Scott!! Reese Witherspoon...who I love...wore a stunning pink print L'Wren Scott Spring 2010 dress last week! It was beautiful! I saw it, hearted it, and now I hear my closet whisper to me at night that it needs to have this dress!

Where the Wild Things Are! Megs and I went and watched it Halloween night! I enjoyed it! It took some coaxing to get Megs out of the car in her costume, but we did make it and I really enjoyed it! Not quite love but I really liked it. It was not what I was expecting. It had a more...independent film feel to it. The sound track was good, but Spike Jonze uses silence very well too! Plus, have you seen all the awesome Max costumes that people wore this year? Awesome!!
