26 years and I've never had a Star Wars party...shocking I know! But it was so fun! We had lots of sugar and food!
Star Wars sugar cookies!
Chocolate and Pop Rocks suckers!
Cup Cakes with Awesome Star Wars things!
and of course R2-D2!
For dinner we had imitation Costa Vida Sweet Pork salad...and Broccoli slaw! Notice the light saber...that really works...and Death Star pinata...which started out as a pumpkin!
With a green yoda drink!
Awesome table and I owe it all to B...and Burger King! I spray painted wine bottles silver and then pulled out all my old Star Wars toys! Yep, Mel and I had to eat a lot of kids meals for these toys, but aren't they cool!
"Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet, or even a whole system, is insignificant next to the power of the Force."--Darth Vader, Star Wars: A New Hope
...Who's ready for a party!?! We're only hours away!
I've really been slacking on the whole Favorite Fridays section of this blog! So today we're going to do a Fashion edition of Favorite Fridays...the following are some of my favorite looks from the last few weeks or so!
Maria Sharapova! I love her Suna Fall 2010 dress! I love the different patterns on the hem and end of the sleeves. It's so cute, bright and fun I think that the black shoes make it a little heavy but I love this dress!
Kate Bosworth! Her nude lace Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2010 dress is gorgeous! I'm not a huge fan of her hair in this picture but I think she looks beautiful! I'm sure her boyfriend, Alexander Skarsgard did too...she is one lucky lady!
Dianna Agron! I think this was my favorite look at the Emmys a couple weeks ago! She looked absolutely perfect in a Carolina Herrera Resort 2011! She has a very romantic princess feel to it...simply beautiful!
Drew Barrymore! Drew bought this mosaic-print chain-mail vintage dress for $25 at a vintage store in Austin, Texas. I'm loving her longer hair and it really makes me want to buy a pair of nude heels!
I remember sitting down for breakfast that morning and watching the news and thinking...is this a movie, what's going on, this cannot be real. I said that over and over on the way to seminary that morning...that wasn't real. But it was. We watched the news in every class...except Mrs. Barker's Spanish class, and to this day I still think that was a bad call. I remember praying in the in one of the band practice rooms with a small groups of friends. It was a terrible day, one I will Never forget.
Some of you know that I really like Craig Ferguson, I especially love the way he talks about America...his love for this country. I loved his monologue from 2006 and the one from last 2009.
“Spike? It’s you. It’s really you! My therapist thought I was holding onto false hope, but…I knew you’d come back. You’re like…you’re like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever. Ohh…he’s alive, Frodo. He’s alive.” “You two know each other?” “Uh, yeah. Um…We—we saved the world together. I mean, Buffy helped, but…it was mostly us.”—Andrew & Angel, Angel
Our little L has started Kindergarten! It was quite exciting! We've watched her since...she was born and now she's all grown up and going to school...saving the world one classroom at a freaking time!
She totally rocked her purple moccasins!...and don't you wish you could pull off the ruffle socks as well as she did! Yeah, she's enjoying her school experience as more than I am...not that I'm not enjoying it. It's great to be back in school, but I can already feel all those papers starting to keep me up at night...not that I work when I'm up!
...yesterday I told L, she could come to my Star Wars party, but she needed to dress up! She told me she's coming as an indian!
PH turned one last week!!! Woo Hoo!! He's possably the happiest one year old ever born!!
So we had a Rookie of the Year...swim party at Grandma and Grandpa B's house! It was really fun!
We had a lot of sweets! Cup cakes, cookies, cake balls, and oreo dipped suckers! And they were delicious!!
What I'm really excited about is that in 15 days I'm having a Star Wars Party...for ME! That's right! I'm not sure what I'm more excited about...that it's my birthday or that we're doing a star wars party!!
...The shirt I ordered to wear arrived today!...so excited!
I have just got back from my Young Adult Literature class...which I thought would be the most enjoyable class I have this semester, but it is not. In fact, it's my least favorite class that's right. Why? Well because we've had 2 1/2 weeks of class so we've met 5 times and done absolutely nothing! It's ridiculous...seriously!...well so I get home and go check the mail. And oh! There's a letter...for me! From Barrel of Monkeys, what could it be?!?
That's right it's my trusty Jedi pin!! And doesn't it look hot on my back pack!!! This is a great way to start out my birthday month!!!
“Evolution has made women sensitive to high-pitch noises while they sleep so that they’ll be roused by a crying baby. If you want to avoid waking her speak in a lower register.”—Sheldon Cooper, The Big Bang Theory
Oh my goodness! M turned 27 and we had a little Karaoke night! Which was super fun! Megs and I dressed up and did a little number for her. Now before you watch this know that this was not rehearsed, or even thought about until we were rummaging through my closet looking for something to wear. Now the song is from Barbie and the 12 dancing Princesses...which we have watched with L...a lot...but we couldn't really remember the words! And let's behonest...Megs and I don't know how to sashay or pirouette...but it was quite fun!
When we were done Papa and the boys thought they should have a go!
