Favorite Friday!

Waitress! I loved it! It's a super cute movie about an amazing pie maker, Keri Russell, who is in a bad marriage, to a man she does not love, and due to bad judgement...when drunk...has found herself pregnant! It's sweet and bitter all at the same time! Plus it has my future husband, Nathan Fillion, who is just delightful! My favorite parts are all the pie names, what a wonderful fantasy world full of delicious pies! I am determined to learn how to make pies now!

The Lost Symbol! Now even though Dan Brown follows the exact same pattern in all of his books...well at least the ones I've read...they are very entertaining. The Lost Symbol is no different. In it we are taken on a very intriguing journey with Robert Langdon and yes there is a damsel in distress. I love the journey through Washington DC...which I am determined to visit...and I love the mystery in our National Symbols and Monuments. The short chapters are genius! Usually I can tell myself only one more chapter, but when the chapters range from mere paragraphs to a few pages it's hard to quite reading. It isn't as good as The Da Vinci Code or Angels & Demons, and some of the parts were a little...blah...but it is an entertaining read!

Marios Schwab! I love this Marios Schwab Fall 2009 Mini dress that Anna Paquin wore last month. I absolutely love the print! I really want a dress made out of that material! And her shoes!

Monday Musical!

Now Mamma Mia is a ridiculous movie on all accounts...but I loved it! I loved watching Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan sing, Dominic Cooper was just lovely to watch, and Meryl Streep is just...amazing! The whole movie is one amazing song after another...but here is one that is fun! Lay All Your Love On Me...you can really appreciate Cooper in this one so have a happy Monday...if you can call it happy knowing that America's health care has just been completely ruined...$938 Billion dollars, who the heck is going to pay for that?

Favorite Fridays!

Alice in Wonderland! Oh my goodness! I don't even have the words to describe how much I loved this movie! It was beautiful! The colors and the lack there of, the costumes, the scenery...everything is gorgeous! I like the fact that Tim Burton isn't confined to the traditional tale of Alice but takes it and creates his own! Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter was interesting...especially is futterwaken dance that Lola loved! I liked the fact that Alice's guide is the world's crazy person! Helena Bonham Carter does an excellent job as the big headed Red Queen. Anne Hathaway flit's about the screen...which Nina could not stop impersonating after the movie, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen and Alan Rickman lend their incredible voice talents to the Cheshire Cat, the White Rabbit and the Blue Caterpillar. And though Alice was the character that bothered me the most...which has nothing to do with the movie but the fact that I read Melanie Benjamin's Alice Have I Been and came to appreciate that Alice so this one bothered me a little...I thought Mia Wasikowska did a good job. And I loved every one of her dresses!

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! I loved it! Douglas Adams gives a completely random...crazy...hilarious story about the destruction of Earth! We join Arthur Dent, a very regular ordinary human that get caught up in a very irregular, extraordinary adventure! You will love it...or maybe hate it...so sit down, pour yourself a cup of tea and enjoy! And remember...Don't Panic!


They Might Be Giants! Since I spend my days watching kids under the age of five I have come to greatly appreciate TMBG. I Am A Paleontologist is my favorite song from their Here Come Science CD. So enjoy!

St Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
To celebrate we had a green breakfast! Which doesn't look as green in the picture but it was green in real life. We had green eggs, green french toast, green milk, and regular buttermilk syrup! It was very good!

Here's a picture of the C Man and I, both sporting our green. Yes, those are green fishnets and they were extremely fun to wear today. But it was strange to look down and see green. It was a alien/frog like effect, weird but really fun!

Money...Money...Money!

Today I mailed in my taxes! Thank God for Turbo Tax...and Papa who does them for me! It sure felt good to stick them in the mail box and put that little red flag up! Even though my tax return is very laughable...the great state of Arizona is going to give a whole $4 back this year!...I'm glad I don't have to pay anything. Even though I don't understand how with the way the economy is now and looks to be headed why people in Washington are so intent on passing a health care plan that our country as a whole cannot afford. Don't get me wrong, I wish everyone not only had insurance but awesome insurance...BUT WHO'S GOING TO FREAKING PAY FOR IT! How much more money is the government going to take from me! I mean they just spent a crap load of money making sure that CEOs all down Wall street were "helped out" but I have yet to see regular everyday Americans being helped by the stimulus bill thing. I can no longer watch the news or listen to radio commentary because it all pisses me off too much! I don't trust the people running my own party since I think the election was...a complete joke! But what can you do? Washington's corrupts! There are good people with good ideas and values that get elected to represent us, but you cannot get anything done in Washington anymore without compromise! And about this universal health care bill...do we really want to be more like Canada? People might go there for cheaper prescription drugs, but not for doctors! And the last place I would look for a dentist is the UK! Plus, do I really want to trust the US government with my health care? The same government that has put us billions of dollars into debt...to China!...and what happened to that Social Security thing they were in charge of?

But when all is said and done...I am proud to be a freaking American so I pay my taxes...and wait for my crappy return!

Grocery Store Books!

Megs and I went to the grocery store the other night and as we were walking to the checkout we passed through book aisle. Which I found very…funny! I laughed to myself as I wondered what demographic they were targeting. Seriously at least seventy-five percent were romance novels. I could just see the mother of two or more getting all hot walking down that aisle with all the rippling chest muscles with scantily clad women clinging to them…or being clung to! There were other books...best sellers, cook books, books recently made into movies, etc. They had the beginning of a few series which I thought was interesting because they had the beginning but not the most recently published ones. Do you know anyone who's ever bought a book from a grocery store? Was it a romance novel? Hahaha! Oh good times!

Vindication!!

OH my goodness! So about a month ago I checked out a certain CD that will remain nameless because it's kind of embarrassing that I even checked it out and to this day I still haven't listened to it. But needless to say I checked out a CD…which we will refer to as CD Hugh because I'm watching Wolverine as I write this and well Hugh Jackman is really hot. So I check out CD Hugh and then came the day that it was due. So L, Megs and I took it and a bunch of other things that were due back. Well so I thought.

The next day I get on the computer and it says that everything was returned…except CD Hugh. Now this really confused me, but whatever, I must have left it at home. So I look for it…and look for it…and freaking look for it! But it is not in my house, or my car, or Meg's car and O did not take it! So now I am…really, really confused and pissed off! Because not only does no one have…the only person who will even admit they even saw it is D! So I just give up and go in to pay the dang CD Hugh. But the lady at the library was very happy to take my money from me, and let me know that if I find it with in a month then I can bring it in and they'll reimburse me everything but a $5.00 lost fee. Whatever lady! I'm done if shows up good. But I swear I saw it on the seat right before L and I carried everything in that fateful day! So time has past I'm still ticked that CD Hugh hasn't turned up...and to be honest I still think O took it and lost it because where else could it be! More time passes, I'm in my room reading when Mother comes in and what does she have in her little hand…Why it's a check from Maricopa County! What? It's not a tax return what…Wait a minute! Hold the frickin' phone! I DIDN'T LOSE CD HUGH! THEY DID! MUAHAHAHAHA!! Oh I LOVE it when I'm right!

Favorite Friday!

The Mentalist! Simon Baker...Do I really need to say more! Oh my goodness, he is definitely future husband material! Don't you want someone who can rock a vest! He takes it and owns it! Who thought three piece suits were what it was all about! The show is smart, funny, full of good looking people. The writing is brilliant! Plus let's be honest…I am pretty much in love with Simon Baker! Cho is great because his facial expressions never change…Why so serious!? But the show is great!

India Edghill! I've only ever read one book written by Edghill but I've read it twice! Queenmaker: A Novel of King David's Queen is a great read. I love the perspective and the take on David. It's a great historical fiction! The story is told by Michal's...King Saul's daughter...and what a story it is...which I love because she really is a forgotten person in the bible...but not anymore! It's full of love, hate, music, secrets, betrayals...but most importantly...well you'll just have to read it!


Blink 182! I Miss You is the first song that came to my mind when I was thinking about it today!...why? Who knows but enjoy it!

I think that I have actually written about the following song, but not for this. So today's song from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream coat...the Donny Osmond version! You know the song the one where he's in jail! Now I might think Donny is kind of old and whatever but holy crap he can sing! I've seen it live twice and neither Joseph was able to get that note at the end...not even Brent Slade who is an awesome singer and quite hot...you have to give it to Donny!
