“What’s so wrong with living in a fantasy world? Seriously. What’s so wrong about ignoring the conventions and practicalities of the so-called real world, and actually pursuing your childhood dream? Sometimes I think the “real world” is just a phrase invented by adults to give credibility to the miserable lives they’ve created for themselves. Feel free to call me delusional, but I was someone on this planet who, no matter how silly it seemed. Was actually listening to my heart—I trusted it, believed it, and followed it. And in my opinion, there was nothing more “real” in this world than that.”—Jerramy Fine, Someday My Prince Will Come

Border Patrol...

My Uncle B sent me this email...which I enjoyed!

What do Other countries do with Illegal entry into their countries?

If you cross the North Korean border illegally you get 12 years hard labor.
If you cross the Iranian border illegally you are detained indefinitely.
If you cross the Afghan border illegally, you get shot.
If you cross the Saudi Arabian border illegally you will be jailed.
If you cross the Chinese border illegally you may never be heard from again.
If you cross the Venezuelan border illegally you will be branded a spy and your fate will be sealed.
If you cross the Mexican borders illegally you will jailed for two years.
If you cross the Cuban border illegally you will be thrown into political prison to rot.
If you cross the United States border illegally you get:
1) A job
2) A driver's license
3) A Social Security card
4) Welfare
5) Food stamps
6) Credit cards
7) Subsidized rent or a loan to buy a house
8) Free education
9) Free health care
10) A lobbyist in Washington
11) Billions of dollars in public documents printed in your language
12) Millions of servicemen and women who are willing to...and do...die for your right to the ways and means of our constitution
13) And the right to carry the flag of your country...the one you walked out on...while you call America racist and protest that you don't get enough respect.

It's been almost ten years since 9/11 and we still have unsecured borders. It doesn't seem right or logical...it's just plain stupid! How is our Federal Government going to protect us from threats on our own soil? They cannot even commit to building a freaking wall! I like Jan Brewer and I like 1070! Here are some quotes by people smarter than me...

..."It doesn't create any new crimes; it just creates a state statute to parallel federal ones," he says. "The two contentious provisions — that make it a requirement that an alien register with the government and then carry their paperwork with them at all times — those have both been federal law since 1940. It's not like it resembles the federal law — they're actually giving the U.S. code citations in the law."

..."People are beginning to understand that a police officer needs to abide by lawful contact," Dane says. "He has to have some other reason to pull you aside. While it remains absent from Page 1 of every newspaper in the country, it is in fact on Page 1 of the bill that no police officer can use race, ethnic origin, color or country of origin as a basis to form reasonable suspicion."

...Oh Thursday I was driving to school and heard that Colorado is drafting their own law that resembles 1070! Americans are sick of the problem, but it's politics that keep them from fixing it!

Shakespeare...

Now that school has officially started and all my time will become non existent, I realized that I really need to play catch up on some summer events! First and foremost was the Utah Shakespeare Festival! Which was...Intense! I loved every minute of it! I saw four plays, Macbeth, Great Expectations, a New Musical, Much Ado About Nothing, and Alfred Hitchcock's 39 Steps! So in order of how I saw them...

Great Expectations a New Musical! I liked it. Amazing voices, especially Pip (Jack Noseworthy) who belted out his solos...he has a beautiful voice and can come sing to me any time he wants! But my favorite character was Miss Havisham (Ellen Crawford) who played the creepy crazy lady perfectly!

Macbeth! I loved it! This was my first experience with Macbeth. I've never read the play or seen any version of the play...the closest I come is the cartoon Gargoyles that I use to watch after school. I have to admit I'm a Hamlet girl...but I did love this play! I thought Macbeth (Grant Goodman) and Lady Macbeth (Kymberly Mellen) were brilliant! I loved the 3 witches also, but did miss the cauldron...isn't there suppose to be a cauldron?

Much Ado About Nothing! This was my favorite! It was...oh my goodness it was hilarious! Now I love Kenneth Branagh's version with Emma Thompson, but this might have surpassed it! David Ivers played Benedick and he stole the show! Creeping around the stage hiding behind grapes, his facial expressions, everything! I loved this play! Don John (Ryan Imoff) might have been my second favorite character...and half of the reason would have to be the long leather coat he wore! But one cannot forget Dogberry (Don Burroughs) and his watchmen...oh my goodness I don't have the words describe how enjoyable they were! And Beatrice (Kymberly Mellen)! The only person who was kind of bland was Claudio (Matt Tallman). I have to mention the music composed by Lindsay Jones, especially scene at the tomb which was simply beautiful! Overall a simply brilliant performance!

39 Steps! This was the...silliest of the plays! But it was fantastic! The train scene...the Inn...oh my goodness! There were only four actors in this play, one of them being David Ivers who was Benedick in Much Ado and who was by far the funniest person on stage...again! It was full of references to Hitchcock's other films including North by Northwest, Psycho, The Birds, and Vertigo! You will laugh the entire time!

...If you get a change you should most definitely go and see these while you still can!...Hurry!

Because I'm sick and tired...

Of hearing about how great it is that finally California has come to its senses and legalized Gay Marriage. That's right I'm sick of reading about it on the internet! So for the record...IT WASN'T CALIFORNIA! It was one judge who decided that the people of California were all wrong...twice! The people didn't do it. It was just one judge who decided that Gay couples should have more rights than me. As far as I see it they have the same rights as me, I cannot marry a woman...not that it bothers me...and they have the right to marry someone of the opposite gender. But for the record I believe this is where are society will seriously start to...decay. Legalizing gay marriage, will lead to other marriages having to be legal...like polygamy! If the marriage is entered into by two...or more consenting adults...why should the law stop it from happening! If they LOVE each other why should others say it's wrong! Isn't that what the argument is? Lately the whole Polygamy thing has been bothering me, because everyone is so against it...and this is not me arguing for it, because it gives me the creeps and I think it's wrong...but don't a lot of people take part in a kind of polygamy when a married man or woman has an affair. They aren't married to both woman, but when you have a mistress or mastress...which is a ridiculous word so I'm going to go with male lover. Nope, that sounds weird too, is there not a word for that!...isn't that kind of the same thing. But that is somewhat accepted, but if he married both women, that is wrong! Society and all our little quirks!

“You knew I was crazy about her—and I was wearing her down, too. But no—handsome, brooding, vampire guy has to swoop in, all sensitive mouth and overhanging forehead! How about leaving some scraps for the homely-looking fellas who don’t turn evil when they get some?”—Doyle, Angel

Space Issues!

This is another example of how I'm pretty sure Mecham and I are like the same person! I teach Sunday School at church and they recently moved me from the Relief Society room to an Over Flow...so we could fit more people in my awesome lesson...and it's summer so the singles ward doubles because of all the peeps back home from school...where the front row ends 12 inches away from the wall. I cannot teach people when they are that close to me because...

1) I'm pretty sure I'm going to hit someone when I talk. Because I speak with my hands...a lot and occasionally...every time I teach...in a big way. My hands emphasize everything I say!

2) I trip over the rolling chalk board they bring in for me...because I use it ALL the freaking time! How are you suppose to learn...or pretend to learn...something if the teacher doesn't write on the board!

3) I've mentioned that I totally judge people based on the shoes they wear. Especially to church. So when I have a row full of girls all wearing shoes that I'm sure were meant to live in my closet and on my feet...I get distracted!

4) As a way to calm myself and bring all my thoughts together, I like to consume a certain amount of caffeine before I teach. I know, that doesn't really make sense. But it gets my heart beating a little faster, which means that my mind is moving a little faster, so I feel more confident that I will be able to remember the things that I was suppose to study/prepare for the lesson! Weird but true. A nice Mountain Dew before I teach does wonders! But between my caffeine intake, the chalk board, and only 12 inches to maneuver...and I'm no supermodel...things and get a little dicey!

...the point is I don't like being that close to peeps especially when I'm teaching! So if there is anyone who has any kind of sway with this decision! Please put us in a bigger room! For my sanity at least!

...and for anyone in the ward that is reading this...even though I doubt anyone does, I'm teaching lesson #30 this week! Feel free to read it before you get to class!!
