Favorite Fridays!

Mischief Managed Mug! I am loving this Harry Potter mug! Wouldn't you just love to sip your tea in this mug while watching or reading about Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs! Now all I need is a Marauders Map!

Erdem! I am seriously in love with this dress and those shoes! I kept looking in my closet Sunday morning hoping to find something in there that would come close to this...but I don't even own a red dress! I know it was hard for me to realize it too...It's perfection!

The Secret of Kells! A beautiful flick with lots of Irish accents! It's 2-D animated film which is lovely because it's been a while since I've watched one. It was nominated for an Academy Award...but lost to Up!...and if you need another reason to watch it, Brendan Gleeson...Mad Eye Moody...is one of the voices!

Falafelosophy!

Did you know that they are still making new episodes of Arthur!? Who would have thought the show was still going! They have to be one of the coolest shows ever because Neil Gaiman guest stared in an episode this week! Check out Falafelosophy! Gaiman is a cat, dressed in typical Gaiman like black...except for at one point he's in a blue wetsuit! He encourages...some name I cannot remember because it's not Arthur or DW...to write a graphic novel! It's pretty cool!

“It’s a classic transformation story. Are you now or have you ever been a Norse God, Vampire or Time Traveling Cyborg?”
“I have known you since what, first grade? I think that maybe I would have told you!”

Whining about life...

Well the semester has past the half way point and I can tell. I'm done with one of the two presentations I have to do this week which is a relief, but let's be honest the easy one, British Authors, was done today. Now I have to try to put together an intelligent presentation on the effect of a maternal relationship on knighthood in Parzival...and I haven't finished the book! Not for a lack of trying. I've never read a book that puts me to sleep faster...not even the bible in Spanish!

The worst part is waiting to get back the paper I wrote on Parzival already. I must say that the worst part of writing a paper is knowing that you are going to get it back...especially since it was the most crap paper I've ever written! I really hate when a professor repeats over and over, carefully reread your papers before you turn them in...mainly because I write most...alright all of them...the night before and morning of! I cannot help it, it just happens, and know I'm pretty sure I failed the paper. Well not fail, but I'm praying for a freaking C. It was bad. So I cannot sleep, my anxiety levels are up...my sleeping patterns are nonexistent which means I'm tired, and cranky a lot. I don't want to depend on caffeine because, seriously, I just don't. Sleep deprivation is the worst punishment my body could possibly reek on me.

Not only that but I'm kind of sick of reading! That's right! Well to be honest it's more of the crap required reading I have to do. They aren't bad individually but trying to get everything read and not fall asleep during these...super boring...books is just terrible! On top of that, I teach Sunday School, which I quite enjoy but feel guilty because I usually don't have time to prepare until the Sunday of. Which I will flatly deny if anyone asks about. But being the Gospel Doctrine teacher has to be the best calling I've ever had. Well that and when I was in charge of writing the Relief Society weekly emails!

...Well another day has come and I'm off to school to pick up that lovely paper! You all have a great day! And did anyone watch the awesomeness that is Sherlock on Sunday?!? Did you love it!?...and just for your information Martin Freeman, Dr. Watson, has officially been cast as Bilbo Baggins in the Hobbit!! So exciting!

Sherlock!

Oh my goodness! Sherlock is going to be on PBS this Sunday! Now if you have not seen it yet...and have waited to watch it legally which is very good of you...You Need To See It!!! It's amazing...mind blowing...oh it's good!

“Stories you read when you’re the right age never quite leave you. You may forget who wrote them or what the story was called. Sometimes you’ll forget precisely what happened, but if a story touches you it will stay with you, haunting the places in your mind that you rarely ever visit.” —Neil Gaiman-M is for Magic

Favorite Fridays!

Wait Until Dark! I love this movie and it's perfect for Halloween! A blind woman, a killer, a doll, and fake cops...plus Audrey Hepburn! It's a classic! If you haven't seen this movie, you need to stop what you are doing and find it!

Valentino! Claire Danes actually wore this back in July to the Valentino show but I love it! I love the ruffled collar, and I am seriously loving those nude studded heels! I think she looks simply gorgeous!

JO! Woo Hoo! It's official they're getting married! And it's about time too! J is super cute and a perfect addition to our family! So thank you J for wanting to put up with O for all eternity! Time to plan another party!!

“The man who’ll blow your brains out is Marshal Zane Cooper. You’ve probably heard of him, I know what you’re thinking, he’s old and decrepit, gums his food AND his women, but he can still shoot straight. And After you is ugly Annie Bransford. When she was born, she came out backwards and no one noticed. Hell, when she was little, her parents had to tie a pork chop around her neck so the dog would play with her. When she’s making love, she has to pretend SHE’S someone else!”—Maverick, Maverick

Reading gave me unrealistic expectations...Men!

Last month Uncle R and my cousin L asked me what I was looking for in a guy, I laughed and answered...an English accent! But then tonight as I put off reading more papers on Parzival I came across this quote again...

"As she chattered and laughed and cast quick glances into the house and the yard, her eyes fell on a stranger, standing alone in the hall, staring at her in a cool impertinent way that brought her up sharply with a mingled feeling of feminine pleasure that she had attracted a man and an embarrassed sensation that her dress was too low in the bosom. He looked quite old, at least thirty-five. He was a tall man and powerfully built. Scarlett thought she had never seen a man with such wide shoulders, so heavy with muscles, almost too heavy for gentility. When her eyes caught his, he smiled, showing animal-white teeth below a close clipped black moustache. He was dark of face, swarthy as a pirate, and his eyes were as bold and black as a pirate´s appraising a galleon to be scuttled or a maiden to be ravished. There was a cool recklessness in his face and a cynical humor in his mouth as he smiled at her, and Scarlett caught her breath. She felt that she should be insulted by such a look and was annoyed with herself because she did not feel insulted. She did not know who he could be, but there was undeniably a look of good blood in his face. It showed in the thin hawk nose over the full red lips, the high forehead and the wide-set eyes."--Margaret Mitchell, Gone with the Wind

...Now for you unfortunate people who have not read the actual book Gone with the Wind, you are missing out, because it is even better then the movie! And those of you who have not seen the movie...shame on you!...BTW don't you think Clark Gable was the perfect choice to play Rhett Butler?!...I cannot even count the number of times I've watched the movie...every time I stayed home for school when I was sick, when ever my Mother was sick, and a whole lot of just because times!

The quote is when Scarlett O'Hara first sees Rhett Butler. Doesn't it just make you smile and think...Holy Fetch that's a man, then where the heck did men like that go!! Just reading it again makes me go weak in the knees, which is a good thing I'm sitting down. But honestly when was the last time someone ravished you with their eyes! Now don't get me wrong I know exactly what kind of man Rhett Butler is, but honestly despite all his faults, I cannot help but love him...and Scarlett too...seriously I've always wanted to have kids named Rhett or Scarlett, but they aren't very good role models! I love the way Mitchell writes, I really need to reread this book! It's just a matter of when, cause I really do need to read more about Parzival! Dang school getting in the way of my enjoyable reading time!

“Anya has a theory. She thinks Martha Stewart froze that guy.”
“Don’t be ridiculous. Martha Stewart isn’t a demon. She’s a witch.”
“Please, she-Really?”
“Of course. Nobody could do that much decoupage without calling on the powers of darkness.”—Xander & Anya, Buffy the Vampire Slayer-Season

Favorite Fridays!

NCIS! I love this show! Did anybody watch the premiere? It was EXCELLENT! My favorite premiere of this season! I love Gibbs, Tony, McGee, Abby, Ziva, Ducky, Palmer...the whole team! I'm not sure how I feel about the new interns that are there now...why are they here? But didn't you just love seeing Papa Gibbs again! This is my favorite show by far!

Emily Deschanel! Yep, Brennan from Bones got married...for reals! And though she looks gorgeous, I absolutely love what I can see of her dress...I cannot help but feel that her marrying someone other that David Boreanaz is just...wrong!

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone! J.K. Rowling is a genius! Reading it again is amazing! I'm still waiting for my letter to Hogwarts! Every September 1st don't you want to get on the Hogwarts Express, put on school robes, greet Hagrid, ride in canoes over a stormy lake to catch your first glimpse of Hogwarts, to put on the sorting hat and be sorted, then to take part in a magical feast prepared by house elves! Can you imagine the thrill of going to buy your first wand, tasting butter beer, chocolate frogs that really jump, seeing photos and paintings moving and talking to you, owning an owl and using it to deliver mail, and visiting Gringotts! This is the first book of one of the greatest stories ever written! Rowling has a gift and I'm so glad she shared it with us! Can you remember how you felt when you first read Harry Potter?!
